Wow! I can't believe how fast the year has come and gone. Here we are in 2015, where new resolutions, changes, and a clean slate begins. Even though many people think that's it's just another day, I'm a big believer that the New Year brings in a fresh start.
I hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating. Some of my friends threw parties and rang in the new year at home. Other's went out on the town. I, on the other hand, spent New Years at home with my husband and kids - just as I do every year. When I was younger, we always spent New Years at a party and we even did New Years on the Strip in Las Vegas, which BTW wasn't as exciting as it sounds. I felt like a sardine trying to make my way through the crowd, but was sort of stuck in place. I think my husband and I decided from that point on - spending the New Year at home is the best way to go.
Do any of you believe in New Year's superstition? Like wearing something New will bring good luck and more new clothes throughout the year. I am definitely one of those people who follow almost every superstition. I generally have a few that I do every New Years Eve before the clock strikes midnight. For example: I always make sure to have coins as well as paper money in all of my pockets. I open all the drawers, cabinets, doors, and windows to let in good luck and I make a lot of noise to scare out all the bad spirits. Oh, and I make sure my kids jump up and down when it strikes 12 so they will grow taller this year.
I know, I know...I get a little overboard, but hey, I write about the supernatural so it only makes sense!
Anyway, there's still a few hours left of the New Year, so I hope you enjoy it with friends and family and make sure to have fun, but also be safe! Until next time.
